Cricket Bat Warranty

At CBP Sport we stand behind the bats we handcraft. Every CBP cricket bat is covered by a 6-month warranty against genuine manufacturing defects, valid from the date you receive it. To raise a claim, contact us with your proof of purchase within the warranty period; return shipping to us is pre-paid by the customer. Once we receive the bat we assess the claim (usually within 7 working days) and, where valid, repair or replace it — or issue a refund if a replacement isn't available.

Please keep in mind

  • A cricket bat is a natural timber product; with use, surface cracks and marks are normal and don't affect performance.
  • Some minor cracking can appear during knocking-in and isn't a defect.
  • A bat's lifespan depends on how it's prepared, used and cared for. Proper knocking-in and a toe guard are strongly recommended.
  • Higher-grade bats often use softer willow that performs better but may show wear sooner — price reflects performance, not lifespan.

What the warranty does not cover

  • Toe damage (e.g. from yorkers) or damage from moisture, heat or storage (e.g. left in a car boot or direct sun).
  • Damage from insufficient or improper knocking-in, or machine knocking-in outside our workshop.
  • Damage from non-leather or composite balls, bowling-machine balls, or hitting anything other than a cricket ball.
  • General wear, misuse or poor maintenance (e.g. over/under-oiling, no toe guard).
